Kelly is the Studio Director and principal singing teacher at Full Voice Studio. She is a graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music (Voice Major), and has a Masters in Teaching (Music). Kelly recently completed her Masters of Research which focused on vocal pedagogy and young vocal development. Kelly is now completing her PhD through Macquarie University researching online vocal pedagogy. Kelly is a former committee member of ANATS (NSW), and Private Teacher Representative on the AMEB (NSW) Board. She also holds professional memberships at the Australian Voice Association (AVA), and the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS). Kelly has presented her work on young vocal development at conferences and workshops across Australia.
Kelly has over 20 years private singing teaching experience, and has worked as a singing peripatetic at a number of prestigious Sydney schools including Abbotsleigh School, Ascham School, Wenona School, Meriden School and McDonald College. Kelly has also held positions at the Australian Girls Choir, and has conducted a number of choirs both nationally and internationally. Kelly is also a sessional tutor in the Faculty of Arts at Macquarie University
Kelly teaches a range of different styles from contemporary/pop, music theatre, jazz and classical. She has enrolled over 120 students in AMEB singing examinations, with a Distinction average, and is highly experienced at preparing students for HSC examinations, with six of her students receiving ENCORE nominations. In addition, Kelly regularly conducts HSC vocal workshops and masterclasses in both Sydney and regional NSW. She is also a sought after Eisteddfod adjudicator.
Kelly also has extensive audition preparation experience, with students accepted into WAPA, AIM, VCA, the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, professional musical productions, including 'Matilda - The Musical', and Sydney Opera productions.
Kelly's teaching philosophy is to guide, nurture and challenge students through the selection of repertoire suitable to their age, vocal capabilities and goals.
