Group Keyboard Class
Wednesdays 3:45 - 4:30pm (Ages 7-11)
Students from Gordon East Public School can be collected after school and taken to the Hall.
What do the classes cover?
This fun and engaging 45-minute class is designed for students with little or no prior experience playing the piano. During the class students will learn basic piano technique (fingering, posture, key identification), and how to play hands separately and together, with opportunities to play both solo and as an ensemble. Music notation and theory is introduced and reinforced through games and interactive activities.
What ages can join?
The classes are designed for primary school children aged 7 - 11 years.
The class is limited to 6 students.
Term 1 2022 dates
Term 1 consists of 10 weeks from Wednesday 2nd February to Wednesday 6th April.
How much do the lessons cost?
Lessons cost $30 per student per lesson with all music provided. Lessons are invoiced per term. Due to COVID restrictions, students will need to provide their own set of headphones. The Studio is a registered Creative Kids Provider, and happily accepts the $100 Creative Kids Voucher.
Who teaches the class?
The lessons are run by Kelly Pecina. Kelly has a degree in Music from the Sydney Conservatorium and a Master of Teaching. She is currently completing her PhD, and teaches at Macquarie University in the Faculty of Education.
Where are the classes held?
All group classes are held in the Hayward Hall at Pymble Chapel, located on the corner of Bromley Street and Mona Vale Road, Pymble. The hall has plenty of off-street parking and pram / disabled access.
Do parents have to wait during the lesson?
No, parents are free to leave their child/ren for the lesson. Kelly can collect students from Gordon East Public School and walk them up to the Hall for their lesson. Parents will need to collect at the Hall at 4:30pm.
